The Costa del Sol which forms the coastline of the Spanish province of Andalucia is well known for its popular holiday resorts such as Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Marbella. These resorts attract hundreds of thousands of tourists during the busy summer months, where beach space is at a premium, and the nightlife goes on all night.

Away from the busy beach resorts, the Costa del Sol offers the visitor something very different, mountainous scenery, spectacular views, and small typical Andalucian villages nestled in the hillsides. During the summertime the temperatures inland can be approaching 40 degrees centigrade, but from October to April, the interior region of Andalucia makes a great destination for those interested in walking, bird-watching, fishing and other outdoor activities. The months of November through to February can be a little chilly, especially at night, but daytime temperatures generally reach 14-18 degrees Centigrade, which is similar to springtime in northern Europe.

There are many low cost airlines offering cheap flights to Malaga Airport in the quieter months, and the city of Malaga is a great base for any trip to the Costa de Sol. Malaga is only a few km from the airport, and there is a regular train service from the airport to the city centre where many of the hotels are located. Malaga is a city rich in history and culture, the historic old town with its narrow streets and small tapas bars has retained the original charm, and has not been overwhelmed by tourism. For those with an interest in art, the artist Picasso was born in Malaga, and the Picasso museum is very popular with visitors.

Malaga also has some of the finest beaches in the Costa del Sol, located to the east and west of the port which is located at the southern end of the city. Above the city centre is the Muslim Gibralfaro Castle and the slightly more recent Alcazaba built in the castle grounds. From the old town it is possible to walk the steep incline to the castle walls and enjoy spectacular views over the port and bullring

If you are considering a driving holiday in Andalucia, Seville is around a 2 hour drive by car, and the spectacular scenery of Antequera is around a 1 hours drive. If you require a rental car, Blue Valley Car Hire offer low cost car hire in Malaga Spain and throughout the Andalucia region.

Are you planning to travel in these forthcoming vacations? Do you want to make the coming trip of yours as the most memorable one?
If yes, then simply scroll down and read these amazing travel tips that will come in very handy for your coming travel trip.

Preplan your travel:

It is essential that you make all the required arrangements before you set out to travel in order to make a comfortable and smooth journey. So, buy the traveling tickets well before you embark on your journey. If you have made the reservations on a prior basis, it is always better to check before you begin to travel so that there are no hassles faced.

Make other travel concomitant arrangements on time:

It is important that you make the arrangements for transport, that is, taxis or cabs on a prior basis so that you do not have to wait unnecessarily when you reach your travel destination. In fact, you should also book your accommodation previously so that you are saved of running around in an unknown territory looking for places to find a shelter at. Your travel agent can help you out in both these areas very easily as travel agents have contacts with all good accommodation keepers and transportation companies in various travel destinations.

Take care of your cash properly

When you travel, you tend to carry a lot of cash so that you can enjoy to the best possible exploiting the unique features and facilities of the concerned holiday place to the maximum and to buy the famous items. But carrying too much of cash is not really safe these days. In order to keep your money safe, it is better that you always carry a credit or debit card instead of heavy cash. As credit/debit cards are accepted almost everywhere they make purchases a very easy and convenient process. Moreover, they are very safe to carry as well.

Make lists of all the things you carry

It is very common for little things to get misplaced when you are traveling as the fun and frolic leaves you with less time to take care of each object you carry with yourself. So, to ensure that every piece of your belonging comes back home with you, it is a good idea to make a list of the things you carry with yourself. When you are packing to come back home, quickly recheck as per your list that all the items are there and none of them has been lost during the travel and holidaying.

These are some of the main travel tips that can help you have an enjoyable journey. Some other things that you can keep in mind are:

- Place a nametag over your belongings and suitcases so that they can be easily recognized.

- Keep extra packets of tissue napkins and medicines for several common ailments like cough, cold and headache along with antiseptics and band-aids for minor cuts and bruises.

So, avail these travel tips and have a happy journey.

The ancient city of Petra was built from 800 BC to 100 AD by the Nabetean Arabs. In this era Petra was a fortress, carved out of craggy rocks in an area which was virtually inaccessible. In the first and second century, after the Romans took over, the city reached the peak of its fame.

When caravan routes were slowly displaced by shipping, the city’s importance gradually dwindled; it fell into disuse and was lost to the world until 1812, when it was re-discovered by the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt. Nowadays Petra is Jordan’s number 1 tourist attraction, known as the “rose red city half as old as time”.

The entrance to Petra leads through the Siq, a gorge about 2 kms long. At some points the path is only 5 meters wide, with walls 200 meters high.

At the end the spectacular sight of the Khazneh awaits you, if at least the view isn’t blocked by tourist taking pictures.

The Khazneh (the treasury) starred in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. We practiced the right way to get inside: duck when the spiderwebs move, do NOT step onto the letter ‘J’ because in Greek the name of God starts with an ‘I’ and at last step into nothing (there should be a secret bridge). It’s needless to say the real interior is a little disappointing.

If you stand with your back to the Khazneh, you can see the entrance to the Siq and souvenir stands selling postcards, sand bottles, ‘keffiyehs’, softdrinks (no matter what flavour always called Pepsi), jewelry and much more.

But … if you walk a little further it gets quiet until at a certain point you realize you’re alone.

Petra covers an area of about 100 square km, where over 800 monuments can be found.

Conclusion: a visit of 1 day is not enough. Better plan 2 or 3 days.

The largest of the temples in Petra is ed Deir, the Monastery. It measures 60 by 45 meters. This enormous size becomes clear when you compare the size of the doorway with the people standing in it.

You can also see two men on top of it

The Caribbean island of Jamaica is a popular tourist destination attracting a million tourists from all over the world who arrive on cruise ships in Ocho Rios, or on the island’s largest airport in Motengo Bay. The vacationers can choose to set base in any of the Jamaica villas and cottages that are conveniently located nearby. As a savvy traveller, you can find a rental within your requirement and budget.

Popular destinations

Jamaica’s most well-knows tourist site is Ocho Rios famed for the Dunn’s River Falls. What makes these falls unique is that the water cascades a series of protruding rocks before weaving its way into the Caribbean Sea. Visit the falls and you will find a human chain winding its way up to the fall accompanied by a guide. There is also a Dolphins Cove nearby where you can actually swim with the dolphins. Then there is Negril with its beautiful beaches, notably the Seven Miles Beach. Also visit this place to witness some great sunsets. Kingston is the island’s capital and is a must visit for those interested in music and the history of the island.

Accommodations

Jamaica boasts a number of hotels and five star resorts but most vacationers prefer to stay in Jamaica accommodation rentals comprising villas, studios, condos, cottages and apartments. By staying in your own rental, you can plan your own entertainment, prepare your meals, live like the locals and immerse yourself in the island’s culture.

Food and drink

The cuisine relies greatly on the local produce comprising pork, chicken and fish. The most popular food here is jerked meat-jerked chicken and jerked pork, which is meat seasoned with peppers and spices and grilled over a hot fire made of pimiento wood and mixed in fiery jerk sauce. If you don’t want it spicy, you can have it without the sauce. Besides, there are other local specialities such as rice cooked in coconut milk and native red beans.

Aside from the rum, Jamaica is also famed for its Blue Mountain coffee, prized for its rich smoothness. You can also try out the Red Stripe beer, available in both light and regular varieties, and Appleton Rum. Infact, you can even tour the Appleton Rum factory south of Montego Bay along the Black River.

Shopping

The local currency is Jamaican dollar. The US dollars are also widely accepted in almost all jerked stands, local shops and duty free stores. For souvenirs, you can purchase local paintings, wood carvings and pottery as well as items crafted from shells and coconuts. You can also consider coffee, jerk seasoning and rum cakes.

Safety

When in a foreign land, it is always advisable to follow some precautions. While you will definitely be safe in the secure community of your Jamaica villas and cottages, you should never venture out alone after dark. Avoid flashy clothes and drawing attention towards yourself. You’ll come across people trying to sell you drugs, especially marijuana but remember possessing drugs is illegal on the island.

Bangkok has some of the best red light sex districts in Southeast Asia. The availability of sex is the biggest attraction, and that’s why scores of men all over the world flock to Bangkok every year. But what most first time visitors to Bangkok don’t know is that there are hotels that charge you extra money for taking a lady back to your room and there are hotels that don’t care who you bring back (as long as it’s only one guest).

Chances are if you’re reading this, then you’re looking to take a lady back to your room. If that’s so then you want to book a hotel that is girl friendly in Bangkok. Non-girl friendly hotels charge a 500 Baht joiner fee and sadly it makes a guest feel sort of shameful as the security guard is usually the one who stops a guest with lady in tow from entering the elevator. Then you’re led to the reception desk, which is also called the walk of shame where you’re presented with a 500 Baht joiner fee.

To avoid this 500 Baht joiner fee and the walk of shame, you should book a hotel that is considered girl friendly. A prime example of one such hotel is the Peninsula. This is one of the top rated hotels in the world, yet they don’t care if you bring a prostitute back to your hotel. It’s an expensive hotel however. Fortunately there are plenty of affordable ones.

Girl friendly hotels are not just a hotel where men bring ladies to for sex. These hotels are just like any other ordinary hotel in Bangkok where business people, tourist, travelers and so on stay. They simply have a relaxed policy on guest inviting a lady back to their rooms.

Girl friendly hotels hotel rates range from budget to astronomical. Some classic examples of budget hotels are the Majestic Suites near Nana red light district and Bally’s Suites Silom in the red light district of Patpong. Most of these budget hotels even include free breakfast and have a pool for guests to unwind on a hot afternoon.

What most first time travelers to Bangkok’s want to know is which red light district they should stay next to. The answer is Nana red light district. Nana is a district in Bangkok filled with clubs, beer bars, pubs and most importantly where you will find the most freelance Thai prostitutes on the streets at night. The main focal point however is Nana Entertainment Plaza. It’s a small building, just 3 story tall filled with a manner of go go bars. In the middle is an open arcade with several well known open air bars.

So if you’re looking for a girl friendly hotel, find one in the Nana red light district. That’s where all the action is and that’s where you should be to experience Bangkok’s sex district up front. But make sure you book ahead of time as most of those hotels are very popular.

One of the world’s most fascinating and rewarding travel destinations is the Middle East. If you are planning a visit there, you have to overcome complications that may come your way. There is spellbinding landscape scenery from seas of sand dunes and palm fringed lakes and stunning mountains of the north and the underwater world of the Red Sea. This is a land full of ancient history, vibrant cultures and unfortunately sometimes conflicts.

When you plan the trip, there are so many travel tips you have to know.

WEATHER

Autumn and spring are the best months to visit the Middle East. I.e. Visit September to November and also March to May. If you are a sun worshipper and water sports freak, the months of June to August should be definitely avoided.

COSTS

Travel in the Middle East is cheap and travelling is comfortable.

TIPPING

This is always there in the Middle East. The term given to tipping is “baksheesh” This is more than just a reward for having rendered a service.

MONEY

The larger banks have ATM’s and they are linked up to one of the international networks like Master Card, Cirrus, Visa or Global Access Systems.

NIGHT LIFE

Night life is safe and there is a wrong idea that it is insecure. Except in the conflict zone, everything is peaceful.

FORBIDDEN PLACES

Mecca and Medina are only for Muslims. Tourists should not try to enter these unless they are Muslims. Mosques are out of bounds for tourists. Never try to take either illegal or offensive for Muslims like Alcohol, books and magazines of an explicit sexual nature.

GIRLS

Girls and women are beautiful and lovely. They are a mixed race with a long history of the area. All women are really beautiful.

AFFECTION

You should not demonstrate affection for a spouse or friend of the opposite sex, when in public. Saudi’s never do this and find such behavior unacceptable. Unmarried persons should not have sexual relations and it is against the law in Saudi Arabia. During Ramadan, do not eat, drink or smoke in public. A dog should not be petted in front of a Saudi. You should dress modestly in public. Men should wear long pants and a shirt and women should wear long, loose dresses with high necklines and long sleeves. A person’s photograph should not be taken without his permissions. No theft takes place in the Kingdom.

CONCLUSION

The people of Saudi feel they are superior as all are Muslims and they look down on non Muslims. In Arabia they feel that they are more superior to non Arab Muslims and as Saudis they feel are superior to all other Arabs and this vicious circle never ends.

Tourists are not treated as they would treat a national and even the law enforcing agencies are like this.

Combine glitzy Vegas-style resorts, turquoise waters, spectacular marine life and ancient Mayan ruins, what do you have? A Cancun vacation! Enjoy this weeks International Travel Tips as a teaser for perhaps your next vacation.

With Cancun’s varied offerings, visitors of all interests are bound to find a perfect spot in this tropical paradise. The vibrant excitement that pulsates all throughout Cancun makes it difficult to imagine miles of dunes, mangroves and jungles that Cancun was four decades ago.

Intentionally built to become a tourist hub, Cancun was transformed from an uninhabitable wasteland to a world-class holiday destination. Dunes and marshes are now replaced by miles of golf courses, theme parks and luxury hotels.

Before heading off to the nearest Cancun attraction, pass by the mangrove jungles of Cancun first to imagine how the island was like forty years ago. You can take a boat tour, ride a canoe or horseback your way through the mangrove jungles.

Explore the fantastic array of corals and tropical fishes while you’re at it. After you have freshened up, proceed to La Torre for a bird’s eye view of the island. La Torre is a rotating tower located at the entertainment complex of El Embarcadero at Paseo Kukulkan, to see the dramatic progress of the island in less than half a century.

Beachcombing and sunbathing is ideal in beautiful Isla Mujeres where its turquoise blue waters are also warm and inviting. Although literally translated as Island of Women, it is open for all to enjoy. Located a short 11 kilometers off the shores of Cancun, you can just lay back on the pristine white sand of Isla Mujeres and enjoy a good book while you soak in the sun and work on your tan.

For an exciting water adventure, visit Parque Nizuc, a marine theme park with pools upon pools of wild water slides and rides. Tired of the modern amenities of the Cancun strip? Take an hour drive to the southern Cancun and explore the ruins of the ancient Mayan civilization in Tulum. Nearby is a secluded beach where you can take a breather after an exhausting stroll around the ruins.

For nature lovers, a visit to the ecological parks of Xcaret and Xel-ha is highly recommended. Keep yourself cool under the shades of its verdant flora while you watch butterflies and birds frolic around its impressive aviary. If you feel a little more daring, you can explore the underground rivers or you can feed the sharks in gigantic tanks with their favorite snacks.

Take a short ferry ride from Cancun to the busy town of Playa del Carmen and test your haggling skills in its many market stalls. Nearby is Cozumel where the amazing splendid coral formations and countless schools of colorful fishes abound.

This just goes to show that a trip to Cancun can be a laidback sunbathing experience on the shore, a luxurious pampering in a hotel, an awe-inspiring visit to ancient ruins or an adrenalin pumping exploration of the wilds. It all depends on how you like it to experience your Cancun vacation.

I don\’t know about you, but I think there\’s some old-world charm about long bus trips that you cannot find in an airplane flight.

Although it is true that traveling time can be shortened to a few hours, even minutes, in one short plane ride, but doing so will deprive you of the scenic montage of vast cornfields, picturesque country roads and colorful villages when you take the bus.

Bus travel remains a practical alternative to long distance trips and it can be an enjoyable experience if you know how to avoid the common glitches associated to it.

The buses of today used for long distance trips are no longer the same cramped and uncomfortable tin foil of a vehicle of yesteryear\’s.

In fact, some buses have been transformed into luxurious forms of land travel that can rival that of any airline\’s first class seats. Reclining seats, linens, overhead reading lights and climate controls are no longer uncommon among modern buses. Some of these buses even offer free Internet connection to make sure that passengers can stay connected all through out the trip.

With the current cozy condition of buses used for long distance trips, traveling in comfort is no longer impossible. You just have to take care of a few details to make sure that your ease and comfort are not disturbed all the way to your destination.

Do keep in mind that there is more than one bus company servicing any one route. Thanks to free trade, there are several options available for you. So, before you purchase your ticket, research on what choices you have and choose one that will give you the most comfortable trip possible.

When comparing buses, consider seat sizes, allowed baggage size and weight, bus fare prices, number of stopovers and expected travel period for your route. Also, do note that some bus lines give generous discounts for early birds. So, you might want to prepare for your trip early for this.

Buses now require their passengers to check-in at the terminal at least 30 minutes to 1 hour before departure. They will not wait for you so be sure to arrive on time; the same rule applies for stopovers. Carry-on baggage should be small enough to fit inside the overhead rack. Do check the placement of your bags on the overhead rack to ensure that they will not fall down on you once the bus is in motion.

You want to choose a seat that will give you the most freedom to do things that you want. If you are the kind of passenger who can\’t remain seated for longer than an hour or who needs to go to the toilet every now and then, you are better off in an aisle seat.

If you are the opposite, choose a window seat so that you will not have to stand up every time the person beside you needs to go. Also, you may want to avoid the back row because they do not recline. If you need to have a reading light, avoid front row seats because these fixtures are not usually available for this row. You also want to sit a little farther from the bus toilet for contingency measure, if you get my drift.

Do not make assumptions about your skill level and follow these Travel Tips with care. Most accidents occur because skiers take a drop more than difficult than it\’s capabilities. Ask a professional to assess your skills and ask what the slopes are safe for you to try. This sport can be a daredevil, but if you do not have the goods to back it up, to work better in their abilities first before making the leap.

Skiing is indeed a dangerous sport and accidents happen at the slope. Therefore, before you head to your ski trip, make sure your insurance policy covers any eventuality that may happen while you\’re at it. If not, get a good insurance policy to cover all the activities it intends to participate in during their skiing holiday.

Prepare properly. Helmets are essential, including veterans and use what you have no excuse for that you will not. Sunglasses are also essential as the pristine blanket of snow can be blinding. padded gloves and clothing should not only protect them from cold, but should cushion your body in case they are. Make sure your boots are well equipped with good ankle support to prevent blisters and leg cramps typical of the sport.

You may feel cold and cold with snow all around, but if the sun is shining and be sure to apply sunscreen on your face to prevent sunburn.

Do not ignore warnings about the weather. Ski resorts (as you know your business), it\’s better to trust them in their own personal assessment of the weather.

Pay attention to the condition of your body. Hypothermia and frostbite are common under conditions of extreme cold. Views from the hostel are in order, if you get too cold, and put off skiing until the sun has become very high in the sky.

The warm beer and Scotch whiskey may seem like a good idea when it\’s cold, but you better go easy on alcohol if you are on the slopes. \”Alcohol not only delayed his reactions, but also affected his vision\”. Do not jeopardize your safety on the slopes, be sure to keep safe by staying aware and alert on their feet.
